Overview

As a Field-Based Engineer within our Properties Team, you\’ll play a key role in ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of our sites. Your week will be varied – from conducting on-site testing and inspections to producing detailed reports and preparing for upcoming projects. You\’ll enjoy a mix of fieldwork and flexible hybrid working, supported by access to one of our regional sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical testing and inspection on in-house installations and complete EICRs and EVC annual tests with accuracy and detail
  • Diagnose electrical faults and recommend effective remedial actions to minimise actions
  • Ensure all work complies with BS7671 and company safety standards
  • Maintain accurate documentation and certification for all testing and inspection activities
  • Liaise with internal departments, site managers and maintenance teams to coordinate testing schedules and access
  • Support planned and reactive maintenance, including minor electrical works where required

What We\’re Looking For

We\’re looking for a skilled Electrical Test & Inspection Engineer with a passion for safety, quality, and excellence. The ideal candidate will be confident working independently across multiple sites and producing accurate reports.

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 (Inspection & Testing)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
  • City & Guilds 2377 (Portable Appliance Testing)
  • Proven experience in electrical testing and fault finding within commercial environments
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to produce clear, concise reports
  • ECS/CSCS card
  • Experience in carrying out remedial works following EICRs
  • Familiarity with electrical testing software (e.g., EasyCert, NICEIC Cert Software)
  • IPAF certification for working at height
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency systems and sustainable technologies
  • Experience with EV charger installation and testing, and a basic understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS)
