Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor role based in Belfast. The Quantity Surveyor will prepare and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQs), measure works, and support tendering processes. Daily tasks include cost planning, cost control, and cost reporting throughout pre-contract and post-contract stages. The role involves valuing progress claims, managing variations, monitoring budgets, and providing financial reports to clients and project teams. The Quantity Surveyor will collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and contractors to ensure commercial performance, compliance with contract conditions, and timely delivery of project documentation.
Qualifications
- Strong cost management skills, including Cost Management and Cost Planning, to support accurate budgeting and forecasting.
- Demonstrated capability in Cost Control and Cost Reporting to monitor expenditures and provide clear financial updates.
- Proficiency in preparing and managing BOQs and related measurement documents.
- Experience with standard construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC or equivalent) and commercial administration.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and Excel skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Professional membership or working toward membership of a recognized body (e.g., RICS or equivalent) is an advantage.
