Purpose & Impact
Within JCDecaux UK, the role of the Technical Implementation Lead (TIL) is crucial for managing and ensuring the smooth rollout of system upgrades and overseeing the effective release management processes. The role reports to the Technical Solutions Director (TSD) and works alongside the Enterprise & Solution Architect (ESA), Business Intelligence (BIL) and Data Services (DSL) Leads, and developers or external consultants within the Technical Solutions department. The TIL manages a team of Legacy Application Support Consultants and Implementation Analysts.

Key interactions include:

  • Business Intelligence - to ensure that upgrades and releases support and enhance BI initiatives
  • Data Services - to ensure data integrity and availability during and after system upgrades
  • Developers or external consultants - to guarantee that cloud-based solutions align with implementation strategies

Implementation Strategy & Planning
Develop and maintain a strategic plan for system upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Prioritize upgrades based on business needs, system vulnerabilities, and technological advancements. Keep abreast of technological trends to ensure JCDecaux's systems remain current and competitive.

Operational Activities
Oversee the complete lifecycle of system upgrades, from planning to post-implementation review. Coordinate with various teams to ensure upgrades are in line with technical and business requirements. Establish protocols to test new upgrades in controlled environments before full-scale implementation.

Release Management & Support
Lead the team of Implementation Analysts in effective release management, ensuring timely, efficient, and error-free releases. Serve as the primary point of contact for all implementation-related queries and issues. Review post-implementation feedback and make necessary adjustments to future upgrades.

Vendor Management
Foster strong relationships with software providers, system vendors, and consultancy firms. Ensure third-party solutions and upgrades are in alignment with JCDecaux's technical requirements and standards.

Quality Management
Commit to the continuous improvement of implementation practices by reviewing system performance, user feedback, and team inputs. Ensure thorough documentation of every system upgrade, outlining processes, challenges, solutions, and outcomes.

Team Collaboration
Lead and mentor the team of Implementation Analysts, ensuring they are well-equipped to manage release processes. Collaborate closely with other department leads to ensure integrated and cohesive system upgrades. Share insights and gather feedback from teams to continually refine the implementation process.

Stakeholder Engagement
Regularly update business stakeholders on upcoming upgrades, potential system downtimes, and expected improvements. Translate technical jargon into understandable terms for non-technical audiences. Develop and maintain strong relationships with business units, ensuring system upgrades align with their operational needs.

Strong technical acumen with an ability to foresee and troubleshoot potential issues. Proficiency in English; French proficiency would be beneficial. Proven project management skills, with an ability to handle multiple projects concurrently. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and user experience. Self-driven with a passion for technological innovation. Exceptional communication and team leadership skills.

Qualifications & Experience
Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Extensive experience in system implementation, upgrade management, and release processes. Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Azure. Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage large-scale technical projects. Solid understanding of software development life cycle and release management protocols.
