The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

The role is a Planner providing the link between JCDecaux Development Teams and Planning Departments within Local Authorities. The majority of day‑to‑day work concerns the development proposals for large and small format roadside teams, but the planner also supports Retail, Rail and Airport Divisions on planning legislation, controls and the submission of Planning Permission, Listed Building Consent and Advertisement Consent applications.

Responsibilities

  • Give pre‑application planning advice
  • Prepare planning documentation
  • Manage the planning application process
  • Deal with planning appeals and, when required, offer representation
  • Communicate with all stakeholders involved in the planning process
  • Manage a variety of planning applications, appeals and pre‑application enquiries
  • Produce planning application reports
  • Deliver excellent customer service to a range of stakeholders
  • Communicate status of planning applications and queries to relevant parties
  • Update planning IT systems with required data and project status notifications
  • Support and drive service improvement projects
  • Keep up to date with planning regulations, policy and legislation
  • Prioritise workload and take a flexible approach to changes in direction
  • Maintain continual professional development in accordance with professional institute requirements

Qualifications

  • Chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute or working towards membership
  • Minimum degree qualification in town planning or a related discipline
  • Full and clean driving licence may be required
  • Minimum of one year experience working in the UK as a planner (public or private sector)
  • Demonstrable understanding of planning policy and development management legislation
  • Ability to communicate clearly and negotiate confidently
  • Track‑record of excellent time‑management skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Understanding of the planning process from start to completion
  • Evidence of report writing
  • Experience using IT systems, including database management
  • Excellent administrative capabilities
  • Experience managing conflicting workloads and priorities
  • Evidence of working as a team player and ability to lead on projects when required
  • Outstanding IT skills and a track record of using data management systems and a variety of software packages
