BUSINESS GROWTH:The Business Growth team's mission is to empower direct clients, SMEs, start-ups and independent agencies with the knowledge that helps them succeed. The team drives JCDecaux growth through programmes designed to maximise incremental revenue opportunities, both from businesses that do not procure through OOH specialist agencies and through all other routes to market. The team has a clear vision to grow and develop relationships with advertisers, taking the benefits of partnering with JCDecaux to C-suite level across a wide range of advertiser categories, messages and objectives, and working together for the benefit of all parties.
What you'll be doing...Purpose To create real value for clients through the power of the public screen: listen to customers' questions, needs and business objectives, and demonstrate to them that OOH is a trusted and responsible channel choice that answers those questions, meeting their needs. Educate customers to give them the knowledge to confidently use OOH, knowing it is a trusted media channel. Understand and eulogise on the priming effect on other channels OOH has and understand the role that OOH has to play in the cookie-less future. Choose to care about the success of our clients, taking a test and learn approach to allow clients to fully trust in our media.
- Applies knowledge and experience of Out of Home, Digital Out of Home and the wider media landscape to provide analysis of market trends, to adapt Business Growth team strategy to leverage findings, advising on competition and new revenue streams.
- Support The Campaign Planning Partner on developing higher value client proposals and plans on behalf of the Business Growth Development Managers.
- Typically working on campaigns with an investment value of £100K and upwards, or where a plan has a high level of complexity and greater insight requirements; Producing strategic plans across both New Business pitches and established Client Partnerships, to help drive new revenues and develop and grow the existing client base.
- Working predominantly with The Nurture team, whilst also working with a One Team attitude across the wider Business Growth Programmes, Category and Commercial Direct teams. It is expected that 75% of the Senior Strategic Planner's time will be spent on Nurture business, planning strategic campaigns for Tech Start-Up and more general Start-Up brands.
- Producing strategic campaign plans that put the Customer First, focusing on and understanding a client's business objectives and advertising requirements.
- Building persuasive and relevant sales presentations for higher value clients, liaising with the Insight team to apply relevant data and insight where suitable.
- Planning complex campaigns tactically, to deliver the best possible results by matching client brief and needs to the relevant opportunity, whilst also considering needs of the business selling and promoting the full range of JCD products and partner products to clients.
- Driving Programmatic Digital Out of Home potential via support with individual proposals; producing programmatic proposals, utilising and understanding the data that drives the PrDOOH marketplace.
- Have an understanding and a working knowledge of various insight and strategic planning tools, to rationalise sales arguments. E.g. VIOOH, Route, Aureus, AdSquare, YouGov, etc. Demonstrate expertise in these areas and be an early adopter of new tools in order to support the wider BGT in understanding and application of them.
- Utilise these tools and the wider data sets available to create high value targeted campaigns with the confidence that they offer the best solution for a client's investment.
- Critical thinking; ability to question a strategy, challenge a prescriptive brief with evidence and insight.
- Creative thinking; ability to visualise the bigger picture when planning campaigns.
- Use a test and learn approach to build client confidence in planning OOH campaigns; considering the outcomes of campaigns planned, for future business development and long term client Partnership.
- Understands what is needed for the overall success of the business growth team; Offering support to DSS where additional expertise is required e.g. with complex non-linear Route runs for clients.
- Liaising with marketing teams on Marketing initiatives and building longer term sales strategies, advising on and producing relevant marketing collateral when required.
- Researching clients, trends and wider media issues on behalf of the management team and BDMs where required.
- Supporting the director and management team where required with sales admin and broader research and scope. EG Data management within the team, on excel and CRM.
Experience & Capabilities
- A proven track record in an OOH or other media planning or trading environment would be desirable.
- Ability to understand client briefs and extract relevant information, and respond to briefs succinctly and relevantly.
- Computer confident. Advanced level of Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Experience of CRM systems. Ability to learn new technology and IT packages.
- Time management and organisation skills essential. Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads. Be able to work to short deadlines with effective expectation management.
