Our Transmissions business plays a critical role in supporting JCB’s world‑class product range by supplying high‑quality driveline solutions to operations worldwide. We are looking for an experienced Material Manager to join JCB Transmissions in Wrexham, leading material planning, inventory control and supply chain execution.
As Material Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely availability of materials to support production schedules, while optimising inventory levels, cost and supplier performance. You will lead a multi‑skilled team and work closely with Production, Procurement, Engineering and Logistics to deliver outstanding operational performance.
Key responsibilities:- Leading and developing the Material Planning and Inventory Control team
- Managing internal and third‑party (3PL) warehouses
- Ensuring uninterrupted material supply to meet production and customer requirements
- Owning inventory strategy, including stock accuracy and inventory turns
- Driving supplier performance across delivery, quality and cost
- Managing capacity and constraint planning in line with demand
- Supporting new product introductions and engineering changes
- Monitoring and reporting key supply chain KPIs, driving continuous improvement
- Championing lean principles and robust planning processes across the function
This will be suited to you if you have proven experience in a Material Management or Supply Chain leadership role, ideally within a manufacturing environment. You have strong knowledge of MRP, inventory control and production planning. You bring demonstrated people leadership and team development experience. You’re an effective problem solver with excellent stakeholder management skills. You have strong commercial awareness and a data‑driven approach to decision making. You thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑volume operational environment.
