We are currently seeking talented and motivated Vehicle Electrical Circuit Engineers to join the Electrical & Controls Engineering Department at JCB. Opportunities are available at both Engineer and Senior Engineer levels, offering a chance to work on cutting-edge off-highway vehicle technologies. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in electrical circuit design, development, and validation, with a passion for innovation and problem-solving. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and integration of advanced electrical systems across JCB\’s world-class product range, playing a key role in shaping the future of construction and agricultural machinery.
About the role:
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the performance, safety, and reliability of our electrical systems across a range of off-highway vehicles. You\’ll be involved in the full test lifecycle-from planning and execution to analysis and reporting-working closely with design, software, and systems teams.

What does this role involve day to day?
- Developing and optimizing circuit logic for various applications.
- Ensuring efficient load distribution across electrical systems.
- Designing and implementing effective fusing strategies to protect circuits.
- Developing and testing over current protection mechanisms.
- Analysing and selecting appropriate wire sizes for different applications.
- Designing and troubleshooting physical CAN bus systems.
- Creating detailed 2D harness drawings.
- Manufacturing, modifying, and repairing harnesses in both workshop and machine environments.
- Performing voltage drop analysis to ensure system efficiency.
- Selecting, developing, and creating drawings for components like pressure sensors, angle sensors, position sensors, displays, lights, wipers, and ECUs.
- Addressing issues such as CAN network problems, short circuits, open circuits, back feeds, grounding issues, and component failures.
- Utilising DVM, oscilloscopes, current clamps, Circuit 8D Problem
- Demonstrating a basic understanding of vehicle systems, including powertrain, electro-hydraulic, and braking systems.
This will be suited to you if…
- You have knowledge of Power Ratings, Diode Logic, and Relay Logic, ECU Input and Output Types, Ground Strategy, Potential Dividers and Absolute/Ratio-metric Transducers and EMC Best Practices
- You have experience in Zuken E3 Drawing Package Experience, CAD 3D Drawing Skills: Preferably with NX.
- You possess a Bachelor\’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
