Working as part of a highly skilled engineering team, you will be responsible for the design, development and validation of electrical systems across a range of exciting innovation projects. You’ll contribute to the development of next-generation machine architectures, high-voltage electrification solutions and advanced electrical technologies, ensuring they meet demanding performance, safety and legislative requirements for global markets. What does this role involve day to day? Designing and developing high-voltage vehicle electrical systems (48V to 600V). Designing and developing 12V and 24V vehicle electrical systems. Defining electrical and electronic system architectures. Using CAD tools such as Zuken E3 and Siemens NX to develop wiring systems and harness designs. Specifying electrical and electronic components for vehicle applications. Supporting the development of machine electrical components and harness architectures. Testing and validating electrical and electronic components and systems. Developing technical specifications, Group Electrical Standards and engineering instructions. Carrying out electrical system and installation reviews against recognised standards. Setting up and maintaining development and validation rigs. Supporting fault-finding and diagnostic activities on vehicle hardware and wiring systems. Ensuring designs meet relevant safety, legislative and industry standards. This will be suited to you if… You are educated to a minimum HND level in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline. You have experience in off-highway or automotive electrical systems design. You have a good understanding of high-voltage, 12V and 24V vehicle electrical systems. You are proficient in Zuken E3 and Siemens NX. You have experience developing machine electrical components and vehicle harness architectures. You understand safety-critical systems and their application within electrical and electronic system design. You have experience specifying, testing and validating electrical and electronic components. You have strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills relating to vehicle hardware and wiring. You have a good knowledge of UK, European and Rest of World (ROW) vehicle legislation and standards. You are self-motivated and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
