The Opportunity - Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
About the role:
We’re now hiring for 4 on 4 off shifts on a mix of days and nights which attracts an average OTE of £55,000-£60,000 *inclusive of typical overtime and shift premiums. We’re now looking for Maintenance Fitters to join our team and help us maintain and improve our cutting-edge manufacturing facilities. What does this role involve day to day?
As a Maintenance Fitter, you’ll be working with a wide range of high-tech equipment, including newly installed robots and fibreoptic lasers. Your role will be hands-on, varied, and vital to keeping our production lines running efficiently. Key responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing and resolving breakdowns quickly and effectively
- Performing planned preventative maintenance tasks and repairs
- Installing and maintaining mechanical services and systems
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing function
- Occasionally travelling internationally to support specialised machinery—one of the perks of working for a global brand
- Collaborating with the wider team to meet production targets and drive performance
- Reporting to the Maintenance Group Leader and working flexibly across shift patterns and overtime as required
This will be suited to you if:
- You’ve completed a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship and hold an HNC qualification (or equivalent)
- You have experience in fault finding and repairing CNC machine tools
- You’re confident carrying out both reactive and planned maintenance tasks
- You’re skilled in maintaining pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, including machine tools, process plant, and material handling equipment
- You’re flexible with working varied shift patterns and overtime as needed
- You’re organised, able to plan and manage work schedules effectively
- You have strong spoken and written communication skills, and enjoy working as part of a team
