The Opportunity - Maintenance Electrician
JCB Heavy Products is looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Electrician to join our Manufacturing Engineering team.
This is a key role responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of production equipment and site facilities.
Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you’ll support the maintenance, repair and continuous improvement of a wide range of electrical systems and automated machinery.
You’ll play an important role in minimising downtime, maximising equipment performance and supporting production teams to meet business objectives.
What does this role involve day to day?
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities on production equipment and plant machinery.
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on manufacturing equipment, automated systems and site infrastructure.
- Responding promptly to breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
- Working with PLC-controlled equipment, drives, motors, sensors and control systems.
- Supporting continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing reliability, efficiency and safety.
- Completing maintenance records and accurately updating maintenance management systems.
- Assisting with the installation, commissioning and modification of machinery and equipment.
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health, safety and environmental standards.
- Collaborating with production, engineering and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues.
- Participating in root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurring faults.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment at all times.

- You’re a qualified Electrician with relevant electrical engineering or maintenance qualifications.
- You have experience working within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.

- You can work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- You have strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.

- You’re adaptable, reliable and able to support a shift-based operation where required.
