The Opportunity – Senior Indirect Buyer – IT & Marketing
As part of a fast‑paced and highly motivated Purchasing team, you’ll manage a diverse portfolio of suppliers across IT hardware, software and cloud services. You’ll work cross‑functionally with IT, Finance, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure availability, optimise cost, and maintain quality standards. This role offers a unique blend of strategic input and hands‑on delivery, with opportunities to lead category strategies and negotiations at a group level.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Procurement Activity: Own sourcing strategies for IT and Marketing, including hardware, software, cloud, and professional services.
- Supplier Performance: Ensure suppliers meet quality, delivery, and reliability expectations, challenging them on cost, lead times, and innovation.
- Contract Management: Negotiate agreements and manage renewals to maximise commercial and operational value.
- Strategic Projects: Support leadership on long‑term planning and procurement initiatives, including cost reduction and process improvement.
- Supply Base Management: Maintain detailed market knowledge and ensure consistent communication when acting as ‘Lead Buyer’.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work with IT, Finance, Marketing and other teams to deliver projects and maintain performance standards.
Candidate Profile
- You have proven experience in procurement, category management, or supply chain.
- You’ve got experience in IT procurement or technology‑related supply chain management.
- You have strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills with a strategic mindset.
- You have knowledge of sourcing processes, contract management, and supplier performance frameworks.
- You’ve got experience across multiple categories (IT and Marketing commodities would be advantageous).
- You have stakeholder management skills, being able to influence at all levels.
- You have the ability to lead projects and resolve conflicts effectively.
- You have a proactive, collaborative, and detail‑oriented approach.
- You’re flexible for occasional travel.
- You have clear and persuasive communication skills.
- CIPS qualification is desirable but not essential.
