The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 ÂŁ per year.
The Quality Technician is responsible for maintaining the quality of the products by ensuring they meet customer expectations and specifications and thus being delivered Right First Time. This will involve inspection of the machines, reporting and capturing defects, validating any rectification work is carried out to the correct standard, and providing feedback on issues. Documentation will also be checked to confirm completeness and maintained for accurate build records. Finally, you will video the machine as evidence of meeting our requirements and sign off the machine as ready to be sold to our customers.
What does this role involve day to day?
- Be our “Customer Eyes” ensuring products are completed to the correct standard and requirements, including paperwork, photos and video.
- Work with the build teams to improve quality by giving constructive feedback on issues.
- Support and coach others to ensure they know the correct standard our customers expect.
- Report and capture defects to help drive No Faults Forward.
- Support with containment on known issues to protect our customers.
- Maintain good communication with internal stakeholders on issues detected which may affect build or delivery.
- Using problem solving tools like PPS (Practical Problem Solving), 5 why’s, Ishikawa.
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
This will be suited to you if:
- The successful candidate will have previous inspection experience whilst working within a mechanical or electrical production environment and have good computer literacy.
- Keen eye for detail and being able to follow standard operating procedures.
- Any previous inspection experience (automotive / painted finished product) would be advantageous.
- Willingness to engage with other departments and suggest improvements.
- You must be a confident communicator, both spoken and written, have great attention to detail while maintaining a strong sense of urgency.
