About the role:

A unique opportunity has arisen for a UK based Product Manager to join the Compact Product team to support JCB Inc.\’s ambitious Skid Steer and Compact Track Loader global growth plans.

Reporting to the Head of Compact Product in the US, the UK based role entails representing the voice of the customer within the JCB business to ensure there is a strong relationship between the operations, service, purchasing, project & engineering teams, and the global regional sales teams to deliver profitable market share growth.

What does this role involve day to day?

  • Lead the broader adoption the SSL/CTL platform in ROW markets; growing market share but also growing market though an expanded application
  • Driving market share through proactive engagement of regional sales teams, promoting compact solutions in ROW markets and innovating around selling tools and commercial programs
  • Define and deliver the product roadmap and technical/feature specifications for new products based on long-term product vision, user needs, technical and market trends, and platform capabilities.
  • Drive the Product Improvement programme to ensure the existing product portfolio is optimised for efficiency, cost, and functionality, all aligned to Customers’ requirements.
  • Analyse sales code uptake and make strategic growth recommendations to increase sales turnover and profitability.
  • Analyse markets and evolving trends to identify new sales sectors.
  • Travelling globally to coordinate local dealer events and large-scale exhibitions. You will be the primary contact for worldwide Compact product training and sales support for our dealer network.
  • Supporting the regional and dealer sales team at virtual and physical events, exhibitions, shows and product training sessions, and providing training where necessary.
  • Conduct product bench marking to identify product benefits and future product requirements ensuring the ‘voice of the customer’ is considered a priority.
  • Analyse market trends and create a targeted marketing plan delivering sales leads in key growth regions.
  • To have a leading role in analysing access commercial business opportunities, inclusive of but not limited to, enabling machine sales in new regions through machine homologation.
  • Dependent on business needs, the role will involve some domestic and international travel to dealers and customers.

  • You\’re somebody who has an excellent attention to detail, well organised, and a dedicated team player that is able to multitask and work well under pressure
  • You demonstrate a can-do attitude and a sense of urgency to get things done quickly, effectively, and accurately, particularly when issues arise.
  • You\’re highly motivated with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • You\’re a confident user of Microsoft excel and PowerPoint.
  • You have experience of using a sales code structuring computer application, this is ideal but not essential.
  • You have a basic understanding of engineering drawings; this is ideal but not essential.
  • You have a good commercial business understanding.
  • You have the ability to prioritise tasks and the ability communicate at all levels of the business is essential as you will be dealing with many different teams at different levels of the JCB organisational structure including Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, Assembly, Purchasing, Sales, Supply, MIS within an international organisation.
