Overview
In this role you will lead electrical design and development for JCB Backhoe Loader and Site Dumper ranges, guiding design excellence and timely delivery. You will work with cross-functional teams to create robust, customer-focused electrical solutions aligned with performance and reliability goals. The position offers influence on future electrical architectures as electrification and connectivity evolve across flagship machines. You will champion standardisation, quality, and innovation while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to technology roadmaps.

Responsibilities
- Lead specification, design, development and delivery of electrical components and harness architectures for Backhoe Loader range
- Own end-to-end wiring harness delivery, coordinating with the Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) team
- Plan and manage component and harness release against milestones and NPI gateways
- Define, specify, validate and release electrical components and harness assemblies with suppliers and internal teams
- Provide technical leadership for electrical architecture decisions ensuring scalability and serviceability
- Collaborate with India Design Centre and global teams for delivery and knowledge sharing
- Maintain engineering records, drawings, BOMs and change documentation per PLM requirements
- Drive standardisation and component reuse across platforms
- Work with Mechanical, Software, Systems, Manufacturing, Service and Validation teams for integrated electrical systems
- Lead problem-solving using FMEA/DFMEA/PFMEA/8D and implement corrective actions
- Champion best practices in component selection, harness routing, EMC, installation and serviceability
- Support validation, reliability growth and field issue resolution for electrical systems
- Contribute to roadmaps, continuous improvement and development of standards, tools, processes
- Mentor and develop junior engineers in electrical engineering capabilities
Key requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in Tier 1 or OEM environments (on-highway or off-highway)
- Experience in electrical schematic and harness design
- 3+ years’ hands-on CAD and/or harness design tool usage
- HND/Degree in electronics-based discipline or equivalent practical experience
- Solid understanding of engineering quality systems, processes and standards
- Experience with component placement and harness/pipework routing best practices
- Effective communicator with ability to coordinate across multi-disciplinary, global teams
- Strong organisational skills and meticulous documentation and record-keeping
