Job Overview

We’re hiring a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work 4 on 4 off shifts across days and nights. The role focuses on maintaining advanced manufacturing equipment—such as robots, fibre‑optic lasers, CNC machine tools and automotive mechanical systems—ensuring efficient operation of production lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve breakdowns quickly and effectively
  • Perform planned preventive maintenance tasks and repairs
  • Install and maintain mechanical services and systems
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing function
  • Occasionally travel internationally to support specialised machinery
  • Collaborate with the wider team to meet production targets and drive performance
  • Report to the Maintenance Group Leader and work flexibly across shift patterns and overtime as required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Completed a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship with an HNC qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience in fault‑finding and repairing CNC machine tools
  • Confident performing both reactive and planned maintenance tasks
  • Skilled in maintaining pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems—including machine tools, process plant, and material handling equipment
  • Flexible with varied shift patterns and overtime as needed
  • Organised, able to plan and manage work schedules effectively
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills; enjoys working as part of a team
