The Materials and Logistics Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the materials and logistics team, ensuring efficient material handling, stock accuracy, and timely movement of goods. This role plays a vital part in supporting production operations by maintaining a well-organized and safe materials environment.
What does this role involve day to day?
- Provide leadership, coaching, and motivation to the materials and logistics team to drive performance and foster continuous improvement.
- Assign responsibilities effectively and monitor team output to ensure departmental targets are consistently met.
- Manage the flow and storage of materials to support seamless manufacturing operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely line feeding to avoid production interruptions.
- Develop and maintain systems to monitor material usage and ensure consistent availability.
- Maintain stock accuracy through regular cycle counts and inventory reconciliation processes.
- Investigate and resolve any stock discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.
- Keep inventory records up to date within the inventory management system.
- Oversee the receipt and dispatch of goods, ensuring shipments are accurate and timely.
- Liaise with internal departments and external partners to ensure efficient logistics coordination.
- Supervise the correct handling, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished products.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound container schedules to align with production and delivery timelines.
- Ensure container operations are conducted efficiently and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

- Ensure all materials handling activities comply with relevant health and safety legislation.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective measures to address potential hazards.
