About the role
We’re excited to offer a new opportunity for a skilled and experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our dedicated team at JCB Transmissions. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in keeping our advanced manufacturing equipment running efficiently and reliably. You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment, supporting continuous improvement and helping drive our transition toward a modern, predictive maintenance approach. Day-to-day responsibilities
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults and breakdowns
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and repairs
- Installing and maintaining mechanical services and systems
- Servicing and maintaining CNC machine tools, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
- Supporting TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) strategies
- Working across various shift patterns and overtime as required
- Planning and organising work schedules to meet deadlines
- Communicating effectively with colleagues, internal customers, and managers
- Operating across all JCB Wrexham sites, with flexibility to move between locations
Candidate profile
- You’ve completed a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship and hold an HNC qualification (or equivalent)
- You have experience in fault finding and repair of CNC machine tools
- You’re confident working with pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, including process plant and material handling equipment
- You’re comfortable working varied shift patterns and overtime to meet business needs
- You’re a self-starter, capable of working independently and as part of a team
- You’re adaptable, resilient, and thrive in a changing environment
- You have strong mechanical skills, good communication abilities, and a sense of urgency
- You’re computer literate and able to manage maintenance documentation effectively
- You’re committed to continuous improvement and supporting a predictive maintenance approach
