The Opportunity - IT Graduate Scheme

Salary: Circa ÂŁ30,000

Contract Type: Full Time

Start Date: September 2026 (typically for 24 months)

Minimum Entry Criteria: You need to be near to or have completed an appropriate bachelor’s or master’s degree and must be on track to achieve a 2:1 or higher.

What does the IT Graduate Scheme involve day to day? IT is a critical part of the JCB success story, helping to build one of the world’s best‑known brands and taking the lead in digital transformation for this global company, with a reputation for Innovation and an exciting strategy for future growth. The IT Graduate Scheme offers an excellent chance to develop your technical, business, and personal skills in a fantastic environment as part of our fast‑paced, agile teams. You’ll work on projects like managing hyperscale infrastructure, developing digital twins to speed up product innovation, and using AI technology to protect the business from cyber‑attacks. The scheme includes hands‑on experience and placements in various IT areas, along with formal training to help you understand JCB operations better.

What could I be doing?

  • Engineering and Business Systems: Demand and relationship management, core engineering & business systems (e.g., CAD/PLM, Simulation Tools, SAP) and how they enable business processes, system development/change control/testing, project delivery
  • Infrastructure: Availability and Capacity management, network management (WAN, LAN, Wi‑Fi), database administration, server, and storage management (hyperscalers and on‑prem)
  • Cyber Security: Cyber security technology, incident response, penetration testing, employee awareness and vigilance, security analysis (applications, vendors)
  • Service & Operations: Service management (Incident, Problem and Change Management), service catalogue management, asset management, End User Compute strategy
  • Data & Analytics: Data modelling and design, data visualisation, ETL, analytics tools, Machine Learning and AI techniques
  • Project Management Office: Project justification/business cases, project mobilisation and funding, business analysis and solutioning, project planning and control, business change management, portfolio management
  • Cross‑functional placement: (e.g., 3‑month placement to gain broader JCB business experience in Finance, Marketing, Purchasing, or Engineering)

What’s next? We’ll be reviewing applications against the essential criteria, then shortlisting and sending out links to our online assessments in November 2025 - January 2026 (you’ll hear from us either way). Once you’ve fully completed your online assessment, we’ll review it and provide you with an update within a few weeks. Please note, if you haven’t completed your online assessment then we won’t take your application further. In‑person Assessment Centres will take place from January to April 2026 (we’ll send you all the details you need). Following your Assessment Centre, whether you’ve been successful or not, you’ll receive a call with feedback. If successful, you’ll undergo the onboarding process, which will include a familiarisation day. Our Early Careers cohorts ordinarily start in early September.
