About the role:
We are searching for an experienced and driven Head of eCommerce and Trading to lead our online sales and trading strategy. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our eCommerce business, from driving sales and revenue growth to managing and optimising the customer journey. The ideal candidate is a data-driven leader with a proven track record of success in eCommerce, possessing a deep understanding of digital marketing, online merchandising, and customer acquisition strategies.
What does this role involve day to day?
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive eCommerce strategy aligned with overall business objectives. Identify and capitalise on emerging trends, technologies, and market opportunities within the eCommerce landscape. Set ambitious yet achievable goals for sales, revenue, and profitability.
- Trading and Operations: Oversee all aspects of online trading, including product selection, pricing, promotions, and inventory management. Analyse sales data, customer behaviour, and market trends to optimise product offerings and maximise revenue. Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners.
- Digital Marketing and Customer Acquisition: Develop and execute effective digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels (e.g., SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing) with the digital marketing team. Manage and optimise website traffic, conversion rates, and customer acquisition costs. Stay abreast of the latest digital marketing trends and technologies.
- Customer Experience: Create a seamless and engaging online customer experience that fosters loyalty and drives repeat purchases. Oversee customer service operations, ensuring timely resolution of inquiries and issues. Analyse customer feedback and data to identify areas for improvement in the online customer journey.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing eCommerce team. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and data-driven decision-making.
This will be suited to you if:
- You have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- You have a proven track record of success in a leadership role within eCommerce, with a minimum of 8 years of experience.
- You have a deep understanding of eCommerce best practices, digital marketing strategies, and online merchandising principles.
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- You have excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- You have experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
