Responsibilities
- Providing chairside assistance to the Dentist during a range of dental procedures
- Preparing the surgery and ensuring all equipment, instruments, and materials are ready for use
- Maintaining high standards of infection control, decontamination, and clinical hygiene in line with regulations
- Supporting patient care by offering reassurance, clear communication, and a professional, calm approach
- Managing and maintaining dental instruments, equipment, and stock levels
- Updating and maintaining accurate patient records in line with data protection requirements
- Supporting appointment scheduling and clinic administration as required
- Ensuring the dental clinic remains compliant with health & safety, clinical governance, and regulatory standards
Qualifications and Experience
- You are a qualified Dental Nurse with current GDC registration
- You have previous experience working in a dental practice or clinical setting
- You have a strong understanding of infection control, decontamination, and clinical compliance
- You're confident supporting a dentist chairside and working with a variety of patients
- You have good organisational skills and can manage multiple tasks effectively
- You communicate clearly, professionally, and empathetically with patients
- You're reliable, discreet, and comfortable handling confidential information
- You enjoy working as part of a small, supportive healthcare team and contributing to positive patient experiences
