About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Company Doctor to join our in‑house Occupational Health Department at JCB. This is a full‑time role but we’re open to a 4‑day week too and it’s central to supporting the health, wellbeing, and productivity of our workforce. You’ll work closely with Management, HR, and Health & Safety teams to ensure our people remain fit, healthy, and supported throughout their careers at JCB.

What Does This Role Involve Day to Day?

As Company Doctor, you’ll carry out a wide range of medical and occupational health assessments, offering expert advice and support across the organisation. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting medical assessments and occupational health evaluations for employees
  • Advising management, HR, and Health & Safety teams on sickness absence, fitness for work, rehabilitation, and redeployment
  • Identifying and addressing health trends in the workplace before they impact productivity
  • Providing medical care and support for employees, including assistance in managing medical emergencies
  • Supporting proactive health initiatives to help our people be as healthy as possible
  • Participating in a limited remote “on‑call” rota to support urgent needs

This Will Be Suited to You If

  • You’re a qualified General Practitioner with MRCGP and recent experience in primary care
  • You have experience or qualifications in Occupational Medicine (e.g., Diploma in Occupational Medicine, AFOM/MFOM, or working towards these) however we’re open to discussing supporting you through these qualifications if you don’t
  • You’re confident in providing clinical advice in a corporate setting and working collaboratively across departments
  • You have experience in travel medicine
  • You hold a full UK driving licence and are comfortable working across multiple sites if required
  • You’re passionate about employee wellbeing and proactive in promoting health in the workplace
