The Role: Kitchen Porter
As a Kitchen Porter, you’ll be an essential part of our catering team, supporting the chefs in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team in a busy, fast‑paced setting and takes pride in keeping things spotless and running smoothly.
You’ll be expected to work a variety of shifts including some weekends, typically shifts are between 6:15 a.m.–2:45 p.m. or 11:15 a.m.–7:45 p.m.
Key Responsibilities
- Kitchen Support & Cleaning
- Keep all kitchen and restaurant areas clean and tidy, including trays, bins, floors, and equipment.
- Operate the pot wash area efficiently to ensure all crockery and utensils are cleaned promptly.
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation such as setting up cereals, salad bar, and drinks.
- Ensure food is stored correctly and rotated in line with HACCP regulations.
- Support with unpacking and storing deliveries safely.
- Health & Safety
- Follow all hygiene, cleanliness, and health & safety regulations.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout service times.
- Teamwork
- Work closely with chefs and catering assistants to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Support other departments when needed, helping create a positive guest experience.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
- Works well both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous cleaning or kitchen experience preferred but not essential.
- Hard‑working with a genuine desire to make our guests happy.
- Shows initiative and a willingness to learn new things.
