Due to an increase in workload we have exciting new opportunity for an Estimator to join our Maintenance Pre-contract team to provide input on all bids from tender stage through to mobilisation and handover.

The role will be home based with the requirement to attend client sites and offices in Stevenage (Hertfordshire) and London, or other sites as required.

Main Functions of the Role:

To provide technical input to the ongoing maintenance of the company bid model templates to ensure they are up to date in respect of labour constants, labour rates and other cost data items. 

To provide input into the bib / no-bid and adjudication processes. 

To contribute to bid teams formed at pre-contract stage and renewal when applicable. 

To provide advice relating to supply chain requirements for bid submission, delivery and compliance purposes. 

Job Specifics:

Support the pre-contract and delivery teams in the creation and delivery of bid and pricing strategies for mobile and static maintenance 

Complete the bid model and pricing process within the given timeframes for all tenders and during the asset verification process. 

Carry out thorough labour loads against SFG20 and or client specifications. 

Review subcontract requirements and provide the procurement team with sufficient detail to obtain quotations. Support with any technical questions from supply chain as and when required. 

Review each tender specification in detail to identify all deliverables to ensure our pricing solution meets with the client/consultant requirements. 

Identify ways to solution commercial options via alternative delivery models 

Ensure the accurate transfer of costs from the JCA bid model in to client specified return documents. 

Clearly identify and exclusions or caveats so that these can be presented in tender return documents 

Review, analyse and amend the contract bid models in line with contract requirements for renewals and extensions.  

Demonstrate a strong work ethic by prioritising and organising work to ensure bid models are produced by the specified deadlines. 

Attend sites to conduct pre-tender site familiarisation, asset collection and verification of contract and sub-contractor requirements.     

Attend and contribute to bid model review/sign off meetings including the detailed analysis of pricing structure and opportunities for savings. 

Ensure that all bid models and associated documentation are managed and saved as per required JCA filing and format structures. 

Liaise with the JCA purchasing team to detail and clarify the requirements for subcontractors/suppliers to help ensure we are receiving the best possible value from supply chain. 

Participate in post-tender follow up of bids including client meetings, presentations and correspondence as required. 

To continually review and improve the JCA Bid Model in line with the development of the JCA Business and associated systems and processes. 

Qualifications and Experience:

Technical qualification or practical experience within the building services industry. 

Commercial awareness of current industry market rates. 

Strong estimating experience of M&E hard services within the Facilities Management industry Knowledge of industry used CAFM/CRM systems. 

Familiarity across a range of pricing structures, business indices and labour loading programmes. 

Sound working knowledge of up to date building regulations and coding, i.e. SFG20, ACOPL8, Etc. 

High proficiency in the use of estimating software, excel worksheets and associated software systems.
