JC & MW Suckley is a family farming business producing quality potatoes, carrots, cereals, oilseeds and maize across Shropshire alongside a renewable energy enterprise which incorporates both an Anaerobic Digester and Ground Source Heat.
Reporting to the Managing Partner, this is an exciting opportunity to join our small team. You will have clear day to day responsibilities for a wide area of work within the business & will contribute to the smooth running of the office and the effective communication, reporting and integration of the finance and operational functions of the business with scope to carve out a role for yourself.
This is a full time ( 40 hrs / week) varied role with some weekend work where necessitated by the business needs
*Duties*
* To liaise with landlords and/or their agents over rental / contract farming arrangements and assist with drawing up any necessary accounts, invoices, and agreements.
* Secure land on annual agreements and ensure that all necessary documentation is in place and appropriate schedules are maintained.
* Equipment Finance – obtain quotes and secure agreements, invoicing, coding and reconcile for the accounts.
* Insurance – policy reviews, quotes, claims, renewals & ongoing updates
* Lead on the use of technology to streamline our administrative processes and improve data collection and reporting as required by the business.
* Support the recruitment of staff, placing adverts etc.
* To maintain crop sales contract ledgers.
* To assist with budgeting, planning and cost analysis work as required and liaise with the Finance Manager to ensure effective controls and reporting are in place.
* Assist with reporting to key personnel on agreed business KPI’s specifically around cost.
* Provide cover / help for colleagues holidays/sickness
* Produce management data & reports

* An experienced person able to demonstrate ability in the duties listed
* A can do attitude & able to work with excellent attention to detail
* Experience in farming / rural land work
* A confident & able user of excel, word & outlook
* Accounts / HR / Payroll knowledge helpful
* Good clerical / organisational skills with experience of general office procedures with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Able to follow instructions accurately with an enthusiasm to learn new skills within a team environment
* 3 years experience in similar or related roles prefferred
