JBT offers a great opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant to join the Proseal team near Manchester. Proseal UK Ltd designs and manufactures high-quality tray sealing and conveying systems for the food industry, with manufacturing in the UK, North America, and Australia. Established over 20 years ago, Proseal is the UK leader in tray sealing machinery and tooling, recognized internationally with facilities and offices worldwide.
Main Purpose of Job:
This role involves processing purchase orders driven by MRP demands and project requirements, including sourcing, supplier relationship management, negotiation, and stakeholder communication.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all activities comply with health and safety standards and report issues promptly.
- Manage and prioritize queries from the central Purchasing inbox.
- Process PO requests via MRP demands and ad hoc requests.
- Confirm orders and update delivery dates in the MRP system.
- Recommend sourcing options for value optimization and develop supplier relationships.
- Negotiate contracts, prices, and payment terms with suppliers.
- Support cross-functional departments with purchasing needs.
- Participate in supplier meetings as needed.
- Coordinate with suppliers via the iQMS system to resolve issues and provide feedback.
- Maintain accuracy of master data in the MRP system.
- Handle general purchasing and supply chain administration.
- Identify and contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Perform other duties as required.
