As a Process Technician you'll be responsible for evaluating existing processes, identifying areas for improvement, developing new processes to streamline production, and seamlessly transitioning new product development from design into production. The Process Technician will collaborate with other Technicians, managers, and departments to develop and test new equipment, tools, systems and processes.
Key Tasks and Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with New Product Development to drive a smooth transition of all parts/products from NPD into live production, creating Standard Work, workflows and procedures to ensure built in quality, and to integrate new products into the production process seamlessly.
- Cross functionally create, manage and improve the PDI process for current and new product development.
- Support with the development and implementation of the continuous improvement culture within production.
- Participate in Design for Manufacture (DFMA) activities, collaborating with the design operations team to optimise product design for a safer, efficient and effective build process.
- Support the deployment of the CI Vision and strategy for Proseal UK.
- Evaluate and modify the workshop layout and workflow for increased throughput and productivity.
- Identify make vs buy activities, and work closely with the Global Strategic Sourcing Lead and Production Manager to take opportunities from idea generation to implementation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand current processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Create process documentation, train and educate team members on new processes and procedures.
- Measure the impact of process changes, make adjustments as needed, and monitor to ensure process improvements are sustained.
- Identify tools and technologies to support process improvement initiatives.
- Support Training Officers with the delivery of high-quality staff training and competency within Proseal.
- Other duties as requested.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Vocational training or technical certification: A certificate or associate degree/diploma in a related field like manufacturing or engineering such as L2/L3 Mechanical or Electrical.
- 2+ years within a leadership position such as Supervisor or Team Leader.
- 5+ years experience within Mechanical or Electrical Technician role.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and conduct problem-solving.
