Proseal UK Ltd designs and manufactures high quality tray sealing and conveying systems for the food industry, with manufacturing facilities in the UK, North America, and Australia.

Opportunity: a role for a Manufacturing Operative to join the Proseal team south of Manchester.

Your Role as a Manufacturing Operative

Within this role you will read engineering drawings, measure and mark out positions to be machined, and use a variety of machines including powered and non-powered hand tools. You will check machined parts geometrically and visually to comply with quality standards according to the engineering drawings. The company reserves the right to vary duties and may require support in other areas to meet customer needs, including temporary changes in department, daily duties, or overtime.

• Adhere to all company Health and Safety policies and procedures
• Complete allocated work to the company approved quality standard
• Complete allocated work to the company approved standard times
• Complete allocated work to the company schedule
• Adhere to all departmental agreed procedures and tasks

Department Specific Key Tasks and Accountabilities

• Wear and use PPE as instructed by Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures
• Keep the working area and equipment clean, safe, and in good condition
• Complete daily safety and maintenance checks
• Collaborate with leadership on production efficiencies to achieve on-time delivery
• Maintain geometric and visual quality standards
• Read and understand engineering drawings
• Measure and mark parts according to engineering drawings
• Select and use appropriate machining method and equipment
• Remove sharp edges from components
• Mark parts with identification for traceability
• Address other reasonable requests within manufacturing as they arise

• Experience reading and understanding engineering drawings
• Experience using engineering measuring equipment
• Understanding of Continuous Improvement
