  • Interpreting engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical specifications to generate accurate toolpaths.
  • Operating machines when required, whether to run trials or assist with production during busy periods.
  • Leading the manufacturing introduction of new components, from design release through to full production (NPI).
  • Defining and documenting manufacturing processes, machining strategies, and standard methods for new and existing components.
  • Working closely with Design Engineering to ensure designs are optimised for manufacture, particularly for stainless steel components.
  • Specifying, developing, and updating CNC tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions to improve quality, repeatability, and cycle time.
  • Collaborating with CNC Programmers and Machinists to validate machining strategies and improve existing processes.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of tooling, cutting parameters, and machining methods on CNC machines.
  • Carrying out process capability studies and supporting first-off and production sign-off activities.

  • Practical understanding of fixturing, workholding, and tool selection.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working across office and shop floor environments.
  • Proficiency in CAM software and understanding of G-code and CNC machine operations.
  • Strong knowledge of machining principles, materials, and tooling.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering role, focusing on the manufacture of stainless steel components.
  • Experience supporting NPI (New Product Introduction) in a machining environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Combination of office-based work and regular time spent on the shop floor.
  • Occasional requirement to support trials or production activities on CNC machines.
  • Standard working hours with flexibility based on project requirements.
