We are seeking an experienced PV Design Engineering Manager to join the dynamic Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Generation Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of onsite solar energy solutions for industrial and commercial clients.
About the Role
As the PV Design Engineering Manager, you will lead the Design Engineering team, providing technical expertise and oversight throughout the full project lifecycle—from origination to construction and operation. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, efficient solar PV system designs that meet regulatory and technical requirements, ensuring engineering excellence across all projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Design Engineering team to develop and approve high-quality solar PV designs.
- Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and optimise PV system layouts for maximum efficiency.
- Oversee technical specifications, PV yield assessments, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and design documentation.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and health & safety regulations.
- Provide technical support to internal teams, contractors, and suppliers.
- Contribute to the development of design standards and processes to enhance delivery efficiency.
- Represent the company in external meetings, industry bodies, and events to strengthen its reputation in the renewable energy sector.
About You
- Proficiency in design software such as PVSyst, PVSol, Helioscope, SAM, or AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of photovoltaic technology and system components.
- Experience in design review and approval processes.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with rooftop and carport solar PV system design.
- Strong electrical knowledge, including single-line diagrams, cable calculations, and HV design.
- Experience with grid applications and coordination.
