About the role
We are looking for an experienced, practical Field Service Engineer to support critical-power projects across Europe.
You will install, commission, service, diagnose, repair and decommission equipment that customers depend on to keep their operations running.
This is a genuinely hands‑on role with significant autonomy.
Alongside field assignments, you will support equipment preparation, testing and technical improvements at a Netherlands workshop that is expanding to meet growing European demand.
What you will do
- Work on diesel generators, loadbanks, UPS, BESS, transformers, power distribution systems and cabling.
- Deliver installation, commissioning, planned maintenance, repairs, fault‑finding and decommissioning at customer sites.
- Complete site surveys and support FAT/SAT activity, system integration, synchronisation and mains/standby applications.
- Prepare, inspect, test and repair equipment at the expanding Netherlands workshop between field assignments.
- Manage work safely, prepare or follow risk assessments and method statements, and maintain accurate service and test records.
- Build trusted customer relationships and provide clear technical updates from site through to completion.
- What you will bring
- A strong electrical or electromechanical background and relevant technical training or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- Field‑service experience in critical power, generators, industrial electrical systems or a related sector.
- Confident LV fault‑finding skills and experience using electrical test equipment.
- Practical knowledge of generators, controls, loadbanks, distribution or related critical‑power equipment.
- The independence and judgement to organise your own work, combined with a collaborative approach when projects need a team.
- Professional working English, a full driving licence, a valid passport and willingness to travel extensively across Europe.
- A home base in the Netherlands, Germany or a Nordic country, with access to the Netherlands workshop when needed.
- Especially useful
HV experience or authorisation is highly valued, but it is not essential.
Experience with UPS, BESS, transformers, generator synchronisation, automatic transfer systems, Com Ap/DSE/DIEF controllers, PLCs, Modbus/BACnet, engines or fuel systems would also be advantageous.
- A varied European remit with technically interesting, business‑critical work.
- The chance to influence an expanding Netherlands workshop and a growing field‑service operation.
- Autonomy in the field, backed by an experienced operations and technical team.
- Ongoing technical and safety development, with scope to deepen HV and critical‑power expertise.
- A competitive locally aligned package expected to include travel support, vehicle provision or equivalent, tools, technology and benefits.
