Location: Kingsilver Refinery, Church Ln, Hixon, Stafford ST18 0PY

Working hours: 48 HOURS PER WEEK 4 ON 3 OFF - 12 HOUR SHIFTS

The Role: Foundry Operative

  • Plant Operation
  • Monitor the pouring of molten metal into moulds and other forms to create castings with the help of ladles and hand-operated equipment.
  • Carefully track the temperature gauges and colour, heating units, furnace flames, etc. to melt metal as per requirements.
  • Adjust extra metal and skim slag in ingots or equipment with strainers, burners, and other hand tools.
  • Ensure that water is circulated through the cores or water is sprayed on filled moulds to create a solid metal product.
  • Build sand moulds for castings with roto-lifts, induction furnaces and jolt squeeze machines.

Candidates must:

  • Have Counterbalance FLT License
  • Ability to complete low level maintenance
  • Be environmentally aware
  • Be computer literate (MS Office: Word and Excel Intermediate)
  • Previous work experience in heavy industry manufacturing environment such as foundry, recycling or quarry and aggregates sectors would be an advantage however all applicants with necessary skills will be considered.
