Description
Key Responsibilities
- Write engaging, accurate, and compelling reactive, proactive, and hero campaign content.
- Use or explore AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Writer) to support ideation, content creation, and trend analysis.
- Support trend monitoring, contribute proactive newsjacking ideas, and deliver timely responses to breaking news stories.
- Collaborate with SEO and strategy teams to ensure PR campaigns align with overall objectives.
- Develop data-led PR assets by sourcing original or public datasets and using tools such as Excel to analyse and present key insights that support compelling storytelling.
- Build journalist relationships, maintain media lists, and monitor relevant requests via tools like Vuelio and Muck Rack
- Pitch campaign stories via email with guidance, tailoring your approach to different media outlets and sectors.
- Monitor and report on campaign coverage, consistently logging link performance, quality indicators, and overall progress against objectives.
- Repitch campaign assets to extend life and value, where relevant.
- Liaise directly with clients when required, contributing to updates, progress reporting, and campaign discussions in collaboration with the Digital PR Manager.
- Follow established processes, keeping scheduling tools, calendars, and campaign assets up to date and well-organised to maintain visibility and clarity across the team.
- Participate in team meetings, capturing key points and following through on assigned actions.
- Support the onboarding of new team members when directed, by sharing relevant templates, resources, or best practices.
- Contribute to wider business activity as directed, such as sharing ideas for internal content or supporting cross-functional initiatives.
- Stay informed about emerging AI tools and technologies relevant to digital PR, and contribute to ongoing experimentation by testing new approaches and sharing learnings with the team.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- At least 1 year of experience in PR, digital PR or a content-focused role.
- A bachelor’s degree in PR, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
- A solid understanding of PR principles, news values, and digital PR tactics.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with excellent grammar and attention to structure.
- Familiarity with tools such as Google Trends, Semrush, Ahrefs, and journalist databases.
- Experience using, or a willingness to learn, AI tools to support ideation, workflow, and pitching.
- Confident managing multiple campaigns and responding to fast-moving news cycles.
