I am currently partnered with a fragrance business in search of a Senior Perfumer in the United Kingdom. This is a hybrid position, requiring 3 days per week onsite.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience as a Perfumer.
  • Proven cross‑category experience (e.g. Fine Fragrance, Personal Care, Home & Fabric Care, Air Care).
  • Strong olfactive capability with the proven ability to memorize notes and accords; excellent sense of smell required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of fragrance raw materials and their interaction with various application bases.
  • In‑depth knowledge of national and global safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to reformulate fragrances to meet cost, stability, performance, or regulatory constraints.

Responsibilities:

  • Create new fragrances and adapt existing ones in line with project briefs, considering application, pricing, regulatory, and stability requirements.
  • Manage and maintain existing fragrance “wins” to meet evolving client or market needs.
  • Own fragrance projects across their entire lifecycle, from brief through delivery.
  • Interpret and translate client briefs while advising commercial teams on technical and creative constraints.
  • Collaborate with sensory teams to integrate consumer and panel feedback into fragrance development.
  • Modify formulas as required and prepare customer samples for briefs, evaluations, and screenings.
  • Support Quality teams by assessing odor, color, and stability to ensure all criteria are met prior to shipment.
  • Ensure full compliance with technical, safety, regulatory, and IFRA standards.
  • Work closely with Sales, Sensory, Regulatory, Quality, and Operations teams.
