J B Tool Hire, a family tool and plant hire business, has been established for over 30 years. We offer a wide range of tools, plant, and equipment hire for the groundworks, road building, waste handling, and construction industries. Located in the East Midlands, we have depots in Coalville, Hinckley, and Loughborough in Leicestershire, which allows us to serve clients extensively across major regions like Leicester, Derby, Nottingham, and Birmingham. We pride ourselves on the excellent condition of our equipment, most of which is less than three years old. Our team of mobile plant maintenance fitters ensures rapid response to any service issues nationwide.
Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Mobile Plant Mechanic, primarily based in Coalville with some work-from-home flexibility. The Mobile Plant Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and servicing a variety of plant equipment to a high standard. Daily tasks include diagnosing faults, performing inspections, completing repairs, and ensuring that our hire fleet remains in excellent condition. The role also involves responding to maintenance and repair requests, both on-site and off-site, ensuring minimal downtime for our clients.
Qualifications
- Experience in mechanical diagnostics, fault finding, and repairs on plant and equipment
- Proficiency in preventive maintenance and servicing of plant machinery
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in plant mechanics
- A valid driving license and willingness to travel for on-site repairs
- Experience with mobile plant maintenance is an advantage
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in the workplace
