Refuse Collections Driver – Class 2 Main Role: Working on the company Refuse Collection rounds, ensuring all customers’ wheelie bin services/company daily routes are carried out successfully, and that any issues are recorded and reported to the Transport Office immediately. Overview of responsibilities Transport and deliver material to and from customers by applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in the area. Responsible for driving to and from designated locations, verifying loads, using correct paperwork, and adhering to UK driving rules and regulations. Performing daily defect reporting procedure To inspect vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions before and after use, use the daily defect reporting procedure to record findings. To ensure paperwork is completed correctly for loads collected and delivered. To apply knowledge by adapting driving to varying conditions such as heavy traffic, inclement weather. Must be able to operate equipment in all types of weather and conditions. To report all accidents and incidents involving driver or company equipment Promptly report any delays due to breakdowns, weather or traffic conditions. You must contact the planner if you are at any site more than 30 minutes. Fully complete an accurate daily time sheet for all jobs completed. To complete allocated work in a timely fashion in the order given. To wear correct PPE in line with company and customer requirements To follow all Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments To comply with the site rules of all visited sites including J&B’s. To carry out reasonable requests Requirements: 2 years’ experience driving in the appropriate vehicle type (Class 2) Valid Driving Licence, Driver CPC card and Driver Digital Tachograph Card Working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems as well as Department of Transport regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection and maintenance. Working pattern: Monday – Friday, 5:00 – approx. 16:00 40 hours per week + overtime when required. Rate of pay – £13.99 per hour, overtime paid at time and a half
