We are a mechanical and electrical services contractor and are actively seeking to recruit for a Quantity Surveyor / Project Surveyor. We are ideally looking for a suitable candidate that specialises and comes from a contracting background and is used to dealing with pre-contract negotiations as well as commercially leading the delivery of a fast-track multi-million pound project. The ideal candidate would be able to support full commercial awareness to ensure the project management and operational delivery team are aware of all commercial and contractual matters involved, whilst also providing support to the Commercial Manager / Commercial Director as appropriate and required.
Day to day
This role provides the opportunity to be part of something that will last for generations. You will be part of a team that helps design and consult on multiple projects across our business—from residential care villages to hotels and groundbreaking innovative client projects, you will be involved throughout the process.
- Management of all commercial activities throughout the design stage, assistance with compiling the tender bid for the submission of the AMP (Absolute maximum price) construction of the project and engaging with Sub-Contractors / Suppliers during this phase.
- Working alongside our design, pre-construction, estimating team during the above phase, ensuring commercial coverage.
- Review and negotiation of the contract with our client, with support from the senior management team.
- Negotiation and contract placement of the Sub-Contract Agreements with our specialist Sub-Contractors.
- Preparation and submission of monthly interim valuations to our client in line with our contract.
- Manage, value and agree variations to the contract.
- Carry out the valuation, preparation, and submission of compliant payment notices to our Sub-Contractors in accordance with the sub-contract agreement.
- Management and agreement of variations with our Sub-Contractors.
- Agreement of final accounts upstream and downstream.
- Monthly production and presentation of financial report for the project in line with the company timetable.
- Review and understanding of programme, and ensure correct contractual notices are issued and as required by the contract.
