Summary: Reporting to the Head of Sales – UK & Ireland, this position is primarily responsible for the customer growth of our POPCAKE COMMERCIAL & ASHWOOD’S business through a combination of sales prospecting, cold calling, online sales presentations & proprietary equipment placement. The role is based in our Rochester, Kent office.
Role responsibilities:
- Proactively identify, research and qualify new business opportunities through outbound telephone prospecting, email campaigns, LinkedIn networking and inbound enquiry management, building a robust pipeline of opportunities across the hospitality and foodservice sectors.
- Develop and manage a targeted portfolio of prospective customer leads, engaging key decision-makers including General Managers, Executive Chefs, Food & Beverage Managers, Purchasing Managers and Procurement teams to secure new business opportunities.
- Conduct high-quality telephone consultations, virtual product demonstrations and online presentations via Teams, clearly communicating the commercial benefits of our free-on-loan equipment and recurring consumable programme.
- Build and maintain a healthy, well-qualified sales pipeline, ensuring all opportunities are progressed through the sales cycle with regular follow-up, clear next actions and timely movement between CRM stages.
- Manage the complete sales process from initial contact through to agreement, coordinating a seamless customer onboarding with the Customer Service team to ensure successful installation, training and launch of equipment including pancake machines, warmers, jam dispensers and honeycomb displays.
- Maintain exceptional CRM discipline by accurately recording all customer interactions, activities, opportunities, live deals and follow-up actions, ensuring data quality, pipeline accuracy and meaningful sales forecasting at all times.
- Deliver consistent outbound sales activity, including cold calling, follow-up calls, email engagement and LinkedIn outreach, achieving agreed daily, weekly and monthly activity targets while maintaining a high standard of customer engagement.
- Work collaboratively with the wider sales, marketing and customer service teams to maximise lead conversion, share market intelligence and continuously improve the customer experience.
- Achieve and exceed agreed sales objectives and KPIs, including new customer acquisition, free-on-loan equipment placements, recurring consumable sales, pipeline health, CRM compliance and customer retention.
- Build market knowledge across the hospitality industry, with a particular focus on hotels, hotel management groups, airline lounges, education, healthcare and other foodservice operators serving buffet breakfast.
- Represent the business professionally across all customer touchpoints, using LinkedIn and other networking channels to develop relationships, increase brand awareness and generate new commercial opportunities.
Experience:
- 2+ years inside sales/tele sales experience in a related HoReCa sales field.
- Proven sales experience with a demonstrable track record of success.
Compensation:
- Salary: £28,000–£32,000 depending on experience.
- Performance Bonus: Up to £5,000 per annum.
- Workplace pension contributions.
- 20 Days paid annual leave plus bank holidays.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
- Proficient with web-based presentation tools.
- Experience in using Zoho CRM or a similar CRM platform to manage pipeline.
Other Requirements:
- Strong phone presence, with ability to close deals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise time efficiently & effectively.
This role is based at our Rochester, Kent office, with some remote working available when required. Please note you will need your own car as our office is not accessible by public transport. Free parking is available.
