The Global Capability Owner, Campaign Planning and Automation, provides hands‑on capability leadership and strategic direction for the product team within the Campaign Orchestration team in Global Customer Experience Operations.
Reporting to the Suite Lead, this role serves as the primary Global Capability leader for the Campaign Planning and Automation and partners closely with the Tech Leads, the Activation Lead, development teams, and/or vendor teams to ensure solutions are aligned with capability priorities and global standards. The Global Capability Campaign Planning and Automation team provides the system of record for marketing interactions, supporting data management, segmentation, campaigns, and engagement tracking.
As the Global Capability Campaign Planning and Automation Owner, you will have primary accountability for developing the Global Capability, roadmap priorities, and measurable outcomes in collaboration with stakeholders for Campaign Planning (Marketing CRM (HCP + Pt.), ensuring capabilities deliver meaningful, measurable impact for users and the business.
Essential Functions/ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
- Global Capability Product Strategy & Roadmap Ownership: Define the capability vision and outcomes aligned to global and franchise priorities in collaboration with key stakeholders. Lead the ongoing evolution of the Campaign Planning and Automation roadmap, leveraging campaign analytics and user feedback to inform prioritisation and trade-off decisions. Translate business needs into capability solutions with measurable success metrics that drive impact across franchises and the business. Develop and maintain a roadmap that sequences campaign planning enhancements, automation/journey improvements, template and modular content enablement, segmentation and audience management improvements, Marketing CRM across SFMC and related tools to improve campaign execution efficiency and measurable performance.
- Collaboration: Connect business stakeholders and the Omnichannel Orchestration and Campaign Planning global capability team, ensuring requirements are clearly defined and aligned to strategically important business outcomes and success metrics. Partner closely with business leads across franchises and functions to bring patient and HCP engagement strategies to life. Partner closely with franchise Activation Leads to ensure capabilities effectively support activation needs, timelines, and in‑market execution across brands and end‑to‑end journeys. Partner closely with the Tech Lead to align business priorities with technical feasibility and delivery sequencing, ensuring trade-offs support agreed business outcomes. Partner closely with the Suite Lead to align capability priorities, scope and roadmap decisions with team-level business objectives, ensuring consistent focus on enterprise outcomes and value delivery. Define clear capability requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to enable efficient execution and alignment with business partner activity needs. Partner across the Customer Experience Operations Organization to ensure seamless integration and influence ongoing capability evolution to support scalability, flexibility, and compliance requirements. Enable coordinated, personalised omnichannel engagement by governing cross channel interaction strategies, activating data driven journeys, and continuously optimising decision rules, channel mix, and next best actions to improve customer response and business outcomes.
- User-Centered Solution Development: Apply user insights and engagement data to inform the design and evolution of Campaign Planning capabilities that enhance the customer experience for internal and external users. Participate in and support discovery efforts, engaging directly with users and key stakeholders to deeply understand their needs, validate business value, and assess technical feasibility prior to development.
- Delivery, Optimisation & Value Realisation: Partner across Global Capability teams to deliver scalable, reusable Campaign Planning capabilities. Monitor capability adoption, outcome KPIs and engagement metrics to inform backlog prioritisation and continuous improvement. Manage documentation of (PRDs, user stories, discovery artifacts), and sprint planning in partnership with the Tech Lead and development teams. Contribute to experimentation to improve Campaign Planning (Marketing CRM (HCP + Pt.) outcomes. Leverage outcome metrics to articulate the capability's value proposition and its impact, promoting capability awareness across CX operations and foster a culture of engagement and feedback in partnership with Activation.
Technical Skills:
- Experience designing scalable capability frameworks, prioritisation logic, and governance standards.
- Strong understanding of marketing automation and campaign execution platforms (e.g. SFMC) and campaign planning workflows.
- Strong understanding of omnichannel data, including media and campaign analytics with the ability to integrate data into decision-making frameworks and explain insights clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with marketing CRM platforms or comparable platforms.
- Knowledge of campaign journeys in marketing automation, cross-channel campaign planning, segmentation and targeting, consent and preference management, and marketing CRM governance.
- Experience working within Agile capability development and product operating models.
- Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar product management and collaboration platforms.
- Experience using AI, automation, or agentic workflows to enhance learning design, delivery, or learning operations.
- Experience partnering with end users across capability discovery, design, and deployment.

Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, marketing, science, or related field. 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other highly-regulated industries. Experience in digital product management, product ownership, or demonstrated experience managing the creation and delivery of a product roadmap within a cross‑functional team. Experience working with campaign planning platforms and executing campaigns in tools like SFMC / Marketing CRM.
Preferred / Additional Qualifications:
Advanced degree (MBA or relevant graduate degree) preferred. Experience working in a product operating model. Experience partnering with product teams supporting digital and operational capabilities. Advanced degrees may offset a portion of required years of experience, consistent with global hiring guidelines. Experience working in rare disease or specialty brands, with strong understanding of unique stakeholder dynamics.
Working Requirements: 20-30% travel will be required.
