We have a diverse portfolio of marketed medicines, including leading therapies for sleep disorders and epilepsy, and a growing portfolio of cancer treatments.

The Breast Cancer / Pan Tumor Medical Director (MD) will, in partnership with the Global Medical Affairs Lead, co-lead the development and execution of strategic medical plans for this molecule across breast cancer and broader pan tumor indications. The role will drive the implementation of global and regional medical affairs activities aligned with the overarching strategy. Deep medical affairs expertise and strong clinical knowledge in oncology are essential, with a preference for experience in breast cancer, HER2 expressing tumors, or targeted therapies.

As a key member of the Global Medical and Scientific Affairs (GMSA) organization, the MD will report directly to the Therapy Area Head, Oncology. The successful candidate will co-create and lead annual and long-range Global Medical Plans, including integrated evidence generation strategies, ensuring alignment with Franchise and Global Product Team (GPT) objectives.

This individual will demonstrate leadership within a fast-paced, high-performing medical team, foster cross-functional collaboration, and communicate effectively across global and regional stakeholders. The role requires strong partnerships with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Commercial, Regulatory, and Market Access teams, as well as influential engagement with external experts in breast cancer and other relevant tumour types.

Key Responsibilities
  • Co-lead the development and execution of annual and long-range Global Medical Plans and evidence generation strategies for the assigned molecule in breast cancer and pan-tumour settings.
  • Drive global and regional medical affairs strategies, ensuring actionable insights inform robust, cross-functional plans.
  • Actively influence the Medical Functional Matrix Team (FMT) for the molecule and lead team meetings when delegated.
  • In collaboration with the GMAL, oversee protocol and study design development, ensuring scientific rigor and strategic alignment across tumour types.
  • Build impactful scientific platforms and narratives that shape disease-area and product positioning in breast cancer and broader HER2-expressing malignancies.
  • Co-direct global medical communications strategy and publication planning, ensuring timely, high-quality scientific deliverables.
  • Provide strategic guidance for core materials (e.g., training decks, scientific platforms, study summaries) for global and regional dissemination.
  • Partner with Commercial to co-lead launch readiness and lifecycle management initiatives across multiple tumour indications.
  • Represent Global Medical Affairs at cross-functional team meetings and external scientific or medical engagements.
  • Maintain deep subject-matter expertise in breast cancer and pan-tumour HER2 biology, anticipating disease-area evolution through competitive intelligence and insights generation.
  • Build and maintain external stakeholder engagement plans, including expert mapping, advisory boards, and collaborative opportunities with key opinion leaders.
  • Champion patient advocacy initiatives in partnership with Global Advocacy teams, ensuring patient perspectives inform strategy.
  • Contribute to the Investigator-Sponsored Trial (IST) and collaborative research strategy across tumour types.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong background in solid tumours, preferably breast cancer and/or HER2-targeted therapies.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Medical Affairs with demonstrated leadership in strategic planning and execution.
  • Proven ability to shape medical strategies that drive clinical impact and business success.
  • Experience leading Phase IV studies, ISTs, and Real-World Evidence initiatives.
  • Expertise across marketed and pipeline products with strong strategic and operational leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to influence and operate effectively within complex matrix environments.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, commercialization, market access, and reimbursement frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication skills and leadership presence in high-growth, fast-paced settings.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
Education & Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree required (MD, PharmD, PhD); MD (or equivalent) strongly preferred.
