Jazz Pharmaceuticals Tax Department is seeking a European Indirect Tax Manager to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Executive Director of tax, this role will manage the companies indirect tax compliance and reporting obligations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to local VAT/GST regulations and company policies. We are looking for a detail‑oriented professional with strong technical expertise, committed to process improvement, risk management, and operational excellence in managing indirect tax obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Manage the company’s indirect tax compliance and reporting obligations, ensuring adherence to local VAT laws and company policies.
- Support indirect tax audits in order to achieve timely resolution and enhancing audit procedures.
- Monitor international legislative and regulatory changes that may impact Jazz.
- Drive operational excellence through process improvements and technology driven initiatives.
- Review and provide guidance on customer and supplier contracts from an indirect tax perspective.
- Mentor and support junior colleagues in the tax team while fostering best practices.
- Support regular training sessions on VAT updates, associated risks, and their implications.
- Support the implementation of system and process updates to address new compliance requirements.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to identify and communicate tax implications of business operations.
- Support M&A activities, including post‑acquisition tax integration.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Strong understanding of VAT principles and indirect tax compliance.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
- Detail oriented self‑starter with ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent written, oral, analytical and presentation skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex tax concepts in a clear and understandable manner to business stakeholders.
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with SAP and PwC’s ITX Edge tool desirable.
Required/Preferred Education And Licenses
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CTA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience in VAT or indirect tax, preferably in a multinational setting or a tax advisory firm.
- People management experience.
