An established manufacturing operation is seeking a Manufacturing Trainer to deliver structured training across production teams. The role focuses on ensuring employees are fully trained in operational processes and Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards, enabling them to work safely, efficiently, and independently. This is a hands-on role, working closely with Production Managers and Team Leaders to build capability, maintain compliance, and support continuous improvement within the manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all manufacturing employees are trained and competent before working independently.
- Deliver and coordinate induction training for new starters, including one-to-one instruction.
- Develop, implement, and maintain structured training plans aligned to operational needs.
- Identify training gaps and needs in collaboration with Production Managers and Team Leaders.
- Deliver consistent on-the-job and classroom-based training in line with agreed standards.
- Schedule and manage retraining and recertification activities.
- Maintain accurate training records, skills matrices, and flexibility matrices.
- Prepare and update training documentation, reports, and supporting materials.
- Provide training feedback to support probation and performance reviews.
- Support internal and external audits relating to training, safety, and quality.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working as a trainer in a manufacturing facility (ideally plastics or extrusion).
- Strong organisational and planning skills with a proactive, can-do approach.
- Confident communicator with the ability to deliver training and presentations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Methodical, patient, and persistent, with strong attention to detail.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative.
- Experience in a similar manufacturing training role.
- Train the Trainer certification.
- Accredited safety or quality qualification (or working towards).
- IOSH Working Safely or NEBOSH Health and Safety at Work Award.
- Advanced computer skills.
This role is Monday-Friday, some flexibility on hours will be required to support the staff working shifts. Benefits include company pension, access to onsite facilities including free parking and genuine opportunity for development.
