Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer for an Electrical CAD Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This role involves designing low-voltage power distribution and control system drawings from concept through to manufacture, providing support to production teams and customers.
Job Details
- Salary: Up to £35,000 (depending on experience)
- Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Responsibilities
- Produce 2D electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layout drawings using AutoCAD.
- Interpret customer specifications and technical documentation to create accurate engineering drawings.
- Develop manufacturing drawing packs, including bills of materials (BOMs) and parts lists.
- Collaborate with production teams to improve processes and create standard operating procedures.
- Support design improvements and ensure drawings meet current industry standards.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation throughout each project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Experience working with AutoCAD (essential).
- Experience with SolidWorks (advantageous).
- Solid understanding of electrical control panel design and low-voltage systems.
- Ability to read and produce electrical schematics and interconnection drawings.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence to discuss technical drawings with colleagues and customers.
- OnC, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
