About the Role
An established care provider is expanding its services and is seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to lead a Residential Children’s Home. This role is ideal for someone passionate about delivering high-quality care and creating a safe, nurturing environment where children and young people can thrive. The service supports young people, including those transitioning towards independent living, with a strong focus on developing life skills and achieving positive outcomes.
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and development of the home, ensuring children receive outstanding care and support.
Job Purpose
To lead and manage a Children’s Home in line with a therapeutic, child-centred approach, delivering high-quality care and outcomes. To ensure the home operates in accordance with its Statement of Purpose and meets regulatory standards, aiming for a “Good” or “Outstanding” rating.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day management of the home, including staffing, care planning, safeguarding, and quality assurance
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Maintain high standards of care for each child
- Provide strong leadership and promote a positive team culture
- Oversee audits, reports, and service reviews
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion
- Ensure personalised, child-focused care plans
- Build effective partnerships with local authorities and professionals
- Manage referrals and placement decisions, including risk assessments
Service Delivery
- Embed a child-centred ethos and involve children in the home
- Meet the diverse needs of children and young people
- Lead safeguarding, risk management, and governance
- Ensure access to education, health, and wellbeing support
- Monitor outcomes and promote social inclusion
People Management
- Supervise, support, and develop staff
- Lead recruitment, induction, and training
- Manage rotas and staffing structures

Quality & Compliance
- Conduct quality monitoring and health & safety checks
- Maintain effective risk management systems
