We are seeking to employ an experienced and proactive fleet manager to oversee the strategic and operational management of our fleet. This is an office-based role and therefore the suitable candidate must be prepared to commute on a daily basis to our head office in Aylesford, Kent.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage a fleet of approximately 250 vehicles
- Manage new vehicles into the fleet and ensure they are sign written, trackers installed and set up onto our fleet management software
- Ensuring that our fleet of vehicles is operating in accordance with legislation and regulations
- Communicating with insurance brokers and organising the appropriate insurance for drivers and vehicles
- Assisting with the drafting and implementation of effective policies and processes regarding fleet operations
- Managing vehicle maintenance, servicing, MOTs and licensing
- Monitoring, correcting and improving driving behaviours and operations
- Evaluating driver performances
- Managing and tracking fuel consumption and expenses
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of vehicle inspections and services
- Monitoring fleet costs and looking to reduce monthly costs and ensure they remain within budget
- Organising vehicle replacements and disposal when necessary
Skills
- Proven work experience as a fleet manager or similar role
- Experience and knowledge of GPS tracking systems and telematics
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the automotive industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Resilient and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively
This is a full-time office-based role, Monday-Friday (remote working not available). Salary starting at £35,000 dependant on experience.
