My client are a leading designer and manufacturing of packaging for the UK retail market. For the last 4 decades, this business has been at the forefront of innovation, sustainability, and manufacturing processes within their sector. We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, repair and continuous improvement of plant and machinery, equipment and facilities across the business. This role is responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, responding to equipment breakdowns, supporting production efficiency and maintaining a safe, clean and compliant working environment. Working closely with production, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and repairs on plant, machinery, and equipment to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency. * Diagnose faults and undertake corrective actions on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems within competency levels. * Support the installation, modification, and continuous improvement of machinery, equipment, and production processes. * Maintain the fabric of the building, associated facilities, fixtures, and fittings to a safe and operational standard. * Liaise with Production, Technical teams, and external contractors to coordinate maintenance activities and minimise operational disruption. * Assist with the ordering, control, and storage of maintenance spare parts, consumables, and engineering stock. * Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, servicing, and repair records. * Attend production meetings as required and communicate equipment performance, breakdowns, and repair updates. While time-served or engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3, C&G or Apprenticeship) are preferred, this role would suit someone in a maintenance role who has experience withing a fast paced FMCG production environment. Multi-skilled with strong mechanical and electrical fault finding skills, you will be able to diagnose and repair a wide range of machinery based issues and work with external contractors where appropriate. Basic engineering skills would be advantageous to the team across the business, and the ability to complete engineering documentation is also of interest.
