My client are a leading designer and manufacturer of packaging for the UK retail market. For the last 4 decades, this business has been at the forefront of innovation, sustainability, and manufacturing processes within their sector.
We are looking for a degree qualified Designer with an interest in packaging design, and who offers a strong portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate to enhance their skills and learn from an experienced team.
As a Junior Designer, in addition to assisting the other Designers, you will also work on your own projects with the responsibility of all aspects of the development process:
- Identifying product requirements from customer briefs
- Creating new concepts and packaging designs
- Prototype testing and modifications
As part of this role, you will have the opportunity to also work closely with the Production and Quality departments. This diverse and varied role offers an exciting opportunity within the dynamic Technical Department.
Applicants will need a high degree of initiative and self-motivation, combined with the ability to be versatile and have confidence to make technical design recommendations. Applicants should also have a high level of 3D visualisation with the ability to convert this into workable designs.
Experience of the Adobe Creative Suite and rendering software is essential as is a working knowledge of either Creo Parametric (Pro Engineer) or SolidWorks. Good written and verbal communication skills are required along with a commercial awareness.
My client offers an excellent salary, working Monday to Friday.
