This is an exciting opportunity to join our fun and growing business within Javelin’s Accounting team reporting into the Head of Accounting. This is a team of twelve employees who form part of the wider Finance department that includes Tax, Risk and Trade Finance, all reporting into the CRO and CFO.
The Systems Accountant is responsible for maintaining and improving the accounting and financial systems of the organization. This role involves collaborating with various departments to ensure the accuracy of financial data, optimizing systems for reporting and analysis, and providing Workday support for the business.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Manage, support and enhance the Workday Financials environment ensuring data integrity and compliance with accounting standards.
- Conduct regular audits to monitor and evaluate system performance, compliance with policies and procedures and recommending upgrades and improvements as necessary.
- Collaborate with the business and other Workday SMEs to drive process improvements, optimisation and transformation initiatives.
- Act as a subject matter expert on Workday Financials and provide training and support to the business.
- Assist in the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to financial systems.
- Configure, test, validate and implement Workday business process changes.
- Design, maintain and optimise system configurations.
- Support Workday releases.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field.
- Strong experience of owning & configuring Workday Financials, including; Revenue, Accounting, Spend & Tax.
- Workday Financials certifications (desirable).
- Ability to design custom reports, calculated fields, condition rules.
- Experience with maintaining Workday tenant security across functional areas.
- Excellent team player who demonstrates a collaborative approach.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A self-starter who is capable of using their initiative to anticipate the information needs of the business.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
