The Role
The Operations team at Javelin manages the logistics of commodity products. Working with traders, finance, technology & legal, documents and settlements, operations ensure that risk is captured accurately and deliveries are made to customers as per the terms of our trades.
As the business continues to expand, we are looking for a Logistics Senior Analyst or Associate to join the metals team in London. This role will complement the responsibilities of the other team members and work as part of the global team to achieve the Operation Group's objectives.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for physical operation for refined metals & metals concentrates in relation to Javelin's domestic and international commodities businesses.
- Ensure scheduling systems are up to date and accurately reflect positions/inventory.
- Be responsible for documentation of cargos and prepare invoices on a timely basis.
- Take responsibility for reporting of programmes and respond to ad-hoc queries from the trading desk.
- Liaise with documentation team and legal team to ensure contracts are accurate from a logistics perspective.
- End of month reporting – including stockpile reconciliation/management.
- Building relationships with clients/ports/warehouse & transport providers.
Requirements
- Prior experience managing physical base metal contracts.
- Knowledge and understanding of title transfer documents and Incoterms.
- Experience with physical inventory management and supply chain optimisation/planning.
- Experience in container ocean freight import and export operations.
- A strong work ethic is required to learn on the job under guidance from senior team members.
- Ability to work independently to manage daily tasks and report to the trading desk.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographic locations.
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload across time zones and judge priority and urgency of requests and issues accordingly.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
