Role
We are seeking a technically strong, commercially minded recently qualified accountant to join our growing team, reporting to the Head of Accounting. This role offers significant exposure to trading activities, group reporting, and process transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will be a confident self‑starter who thrives in a collaborative, high‑performance team environment and is motivated to drive continuous improvement across finance processes.
Responsibilities
- Month‑end close processes across group entities, including preparing detailed reconciliations and liaising with front and middle office to resolve any issues found
- Prepare monthly group reporting packs and ad hoc financial reports for senior executives, stakeholders and board members to inform and aid decision making
- Assist in analysing new or complex transactions and support the design and documentation of appropriate accounting policies and treatments
- Support statutory accounts preparation and coordinate external audit deliverables
- Standardise group reporting templates and enhance documentation of finance processes
- Improve internal controls and ensure robust audit trails across trading activities
Requirements
Qualifications
- ACA / ACCA (recently) qualified (or equivalent)
- Big 4/6 experience desirable but not essential
Experience
- Exposure to group reporting and consolidation
- Experience in trading, commodities, or energy is advantageous
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles, regulatory standards and efficient financial process
- Experience testing and documenting controls for complex financial processes
