A fast-growing, internationally operating media group is seeking a Financial Controller to take ownership of financial control, reporting and governance across the UK business and wider group. This is a senior, hands-on role within a creative and commercially driven organisation operating across content, talent and client-led revenue streams. You will play a key role in ensuring the finance function scales in line with the business while maintaining strong financial discipline.
Key Duties
- Own financial control across the UK business and group entities, ensuring accurate, timely and reliable reporting.
- Lead, develop and mentor the finance team, embedding accountability and a high-performance culture.
- Lead month-end close, statutory reporting, audit and tax compliance, managing external advisors where required.
- Oversee cashflow, working capital and banking requirements, supporting lender and stakeholder reporting.
- Act as a trusted finance partner to senior operational and commercial stakeholders across the business.
- Review and challenge budgets, forecasts and spend, supporting decision-making and cost control.
- Strengthen financial governance, internal controls and documentation as the business scales.
- Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems and reporting.
- Support ad-hoc analysis and insight to inform strategic and commercial initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong technical accounting and financial control background.
- Experience within media, entertainment or creative industries.
- Comfortable operating in a multi-entity, fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to improve processes, controls and ways of working.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with exposure to senior leadership.
- Experience managing and developing finance teams.
- Commercial mindset with high attention to detail.
As Financial Controller, you will be offered a £90,000–£100,000 base salary plus bonus, hybrid working with four days in the office, private medical insurance and strong internal progression opportunities within the wider group.
